Quotes list
The Quotes screen displays customer estimates before they become projects. Each quote card shows its quote number, status, title, notes when present, Base Price, and Customer Total.
Users with quote-management access can create and edit quotes. Users without edit access can open the customer-facing proposal.
Create a quote
Choose Add Quote from the Quotes screen. Before the quote can be saved, LupinusBuild requires several parts of the commercial and project configuration.
The selected customer connects the quote to the customer record that will continue into proposal and project workflows.
Pricing and totals
Quote calculations support subtotal, markup, tax, discount, customer total, estimated cost, estimated profit, and estimated margin.
LupinusBuild can also use configured standard structure pricing and configured add-on pricing for supported structure, footer, and mount selections.
Pricing data used internally for estimating and margin analysis is distinct from the customer-facing proposal presentation.
Quote line items
Quotes contain one or more line items. Empty line-item rows are not included when LupinusBuild prepares the quote for saving.
Line-item records support name, description, quantity, unit, internal unit cost, customer unit price, total cost, and total price.
Quote status
Proposal workflow actions provide the controlled path from Draft to Sent and then to Approved or Rejected.

Quote cards display Base Price and Customer Total as part of the standard quote summary.
Internal metrics—including Cost Basis, Estimated Profit, and Estimated Margin—are shown only to users with executive access.
The proposal presentation uses customer-facing pricing and does not present the internal cost-basis and profit metrics shown in authorized internal quote views.
Convert an approved quote to a project
Quote-to-project conversion is permission-controlled. The quote must already exist as a saved Approved quote and must not have been converted previously.
Changing the current form selection to Approved is not enough by itself. The quote must first be persisted in the Approved state before it becomes eligible for project conversion.
During conversion, LupinusBuild creates a project for the selected customer, generates the next project number, carries the quote total and estimated financial values into the project, records the source quote, and marks the quote as converted.
The conversion is also recorded in operational audit history for both the quote and the newly created project.
