Guide 10 · Files & Documentation

Keeping project photos and files connected to the work

LupinusBuild stores project photos and documents with the project record so operational evidence, reference material, and supporting files remain connected to the work they document.

Project photos and files

Files are associated with a specific project and company workspace. The Project Photos & Files section keeps uploaded documentation alongside the other operational records for the project.

The project file summary shows the total number of files and separates detected photos from other documents.

Upload a file or photo

Choose Upload File or Photo from the project file section. LupinusBuild opens the Upload Project File dialog.

1. Choose a file

Select one file or photo from the device.

2. Select a type

Classify the upload using one of the available project file types.

3. Add notes

Optionally enter a description or notes before uploading.

File selection is required

A file or photo must be selected before the upload can continue. LupinusBuild also verifies that the selected file can be read before it is sent to storage.

File types

File type helps describe the purpose of an upload independently of its technical file format.

Site Photo
General project or site photography.
Measurement Photo
Photos used to document measurements or existing conditions.
Installation Photo
Photos documenting installation work.
Completion Photo
Photos documenting completed work.
Material Order
Files related to material purchasing or orders.

Files that do not fit another available category.

Photos and documents

LupinusBuild distinguishes detected image files from other documents when calculating the Photos and Documents totals shown on the project.

Image detection uses the file MIME type when available and also recognizes common image filename extensions including JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and HEIC.

File information

Each file entry displays its filename, classification, file size, upload date, and optional description.

Open a project file

Choose the Open file action from a project file entry to access the uploaded file.

LupinusBuild generates a temporary signed access link and opens that link using an external application. The generated link is valid for approximately 10 minutes.

Temporary access

Project files are not opened using permanent public URLs. Temporary signed links are created when a file is opened.

File permissions

File actions are permission-aware.

Upload files

Controls whether a user can upload a new project file or photo.

Delete files

Controls whether a user can remove an existing project file.

Delete a project file

Authorized users can delete a project file using the delete action on its file entry.

Deletion removes both the stored file and its associated LupinusBuild project-file record.
